It's been a week of powerful workshops and storytelling as the Junior School participated in a fun, interactive author visit and an Indigenous cedar weaving workshop.
Over the past week, the Junior School library turned into a writing workshop with the younger students working with our first PYP Writer-in-Residence, award-winning author and illustrator, Darren Lebeuf.
We were delighted to welcome back Ms. Bell-Irving, author of the urban fantasy series Wicked Conjuring. To help all aspiring authors, she has written a post offering guidance for anyone crafting their own stories.
We had many members from SJS leadership and administration, as well as Senior School teachers and three Grade 11 students, visit our Junior School classrooms throughout the day to share a special story (or two!).
This week Ms. Bell-Irving from the school’s admissions team, spoke to the Grade 3s about storytelling as they embark on their unit and start to write their own stories!
Ms. Bell-Irving, as well as supporting families through the enrolment process at SJS, is a published author!
