The 2024–2025 Basketball season opened last week with SJS hosting its annual Grade 7 Slam Tournaments, with the boys playing on Thursday and the girls playing on Friday.
Each tournament had eight independent schools playing three games in a day, competing for the Championship. Our SJS Eagles Boys team made it to the final, but weren’t able to overcome a strong Khalsa team and settled for second place. The girls team finished in sixth, winning one of their three games.
The Junior and Senior Boys and Girls have also begun their seasons with opening games this week. The #2 provincially ranked Senior Boys have started the season 2-0 and are playing in the ISAA Tournament semi-finals vs. Brentwood College at 7.00 PM tonight (Friday) at Mulgrave.
Next week, on Friday, December 6 and Saturday, December 7, SJS will host its annual HER HOOPS Senior Girls Tournament with an opening ‘White Out’ game in front of the Senior School student body on Friday afternoon!
