Louisa Set to Join University of Toronto’s Elite Volleyball Program Next Season
Head Prefect Louisa Cassidy, Grade 12, has made a commitment to the University of Toronto Women’s Volleyball Program for next season!
Louisa has been captain of the SJS team for the past three years, as well as playing for Thunder Volleyball Club and Team BC in the U16 and U18 squads.
Louisa said: “I chose University of Toronto because it affords me the opportunity to combine my love for volleyball and academics. I am excited to study at this amazing university and join this elite volleyball program with incredible coaches.”
Jayden Wins Silver in Speed Skating Provincials
Jayden Li, Grade 6, recently participated in the BC Cup Short Track Speed Skating Provincial Competition. This was his first time competing at provincial level and he was thrilled to win silver medals in the 400m and 800m races, bronze medals in the 200m and 1000m races and the overall silver medal!
Ryan, Chris and Susan Achieve First Place in Investment Strategies Program
Congratulations to Grade 12s Ryan Zhao, Chris Liu and Susan Xiong who were awarded certificates by Ms. Bereti this week following their first-place performances in the JA Canada Investment Strategies Program.
JA Canada (Junior Achievement Canada) is a non-profit organization focused on providing young people with the skills, knowledge and experience needed to succeed in the global economy and helping them to develop entrepreneurial and financial literacy.
The SJS team managed to increase their virtual $100,000 to $121,000 in a matter of weeks through their investment choices, leading them to place in the top 2% in the country!
