Our Grade 8s and 9s travelled to Strathcona Park Lodge for four days of outdoor immersion and learning last week.
The Grade 8s engaged in a variety of exciting activities including tree climbing, camp skills, canoeing, hiking and much more, immersing themselves in the beauty of the nature at the site. While the Grade 9s took off on a three-day, two-night canoe trip to various sites on Upper Campbell and Buttle Lakes.
Under the guidance of their instructors, the Grade 9s learned essential backcountry skills, from cooking and dining to waterproofing gear, ensuring their equipment stayed dry during paddling excursions. They also honed their camping skills, mastering the art of setting up camp under a tarp.
Throughout their journey, both groups experienced a mix of beautiful sunny skies and moody rain, adding to the adventure. The camaraderie and resilience shown by our students made for a truly memorable experience in the great outdoors!
