Last week saw the Senior Girls team open their season with a victory at Lion’s Gate Christian and the Senior Boys played their hearts out in the ISAA Tournament hosted by St. George’s School yesterday. Here we look to their seasons ahead!

Senior Girls Team Set Sights on Sea-to-Sky Zone Championship Win

After finishing in second place in three tournaments last year, this year’s team is hoping to improve on those results, win the Vancouver Sea-to-Sky Zone Championship and qualify for the BC School Sport Provincials at the end of November.

The team is anchored by two very accomplished players, Grade 12 student Louisa Cassidy who played on Team BC this summer and Elise Bereti, Grade 11, who played in the top division of beach volleyball this summer. Under the guidance of Coach Kuno the Senior Girls will try to become a tight-knit team who will thrive on and off the court.

Senior Boys Team Features Talented Young Line-Up

This is a young team, with no Grade 12s, who are learning the game and striving to improve at each practice and in every match. Captain Kingsley Ho, Grade 11, is looking forward to being on the court for every point this season and leading this team. Setter Douglas Cassidy, Grade 10, is hoping to follow in his sister Louisa’s footsteps and is relishing the opportunity to display his Volleyball acumen.

Under the capable tutelage of Coach Kinman, the Senior Boys are looking to secure a spot in the GVISAA league playoffs. They have their home opener on Thursday, October 3, playing a doubleheader against Fraser Academy and St. Patrick, so come along and support our Eagles!
