Share

We love to celebrate our students’ success and good news, both at school and beyond. Here’s two feel good stories to share!

Sawyer’s Superstar Season

Grade 1 Sawyer (pictured above) has had an exceptionally busy and successful rookie season in competitive golf. Despite being only five years old for most of the season he won 14 tournaments, had 11 runner-up finishes and five third-place finishes against boys aged up to nine!

In addition to these remarkable achievements, Sawyer also won several prestigious awards. He was recognized as the Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) Boys Novice 9U National Order of Merit Champion, the CJGA Boys Novice 9U BC Order of Merit Champion and the Maple Leaf Junior Tour Boys 8U Order of Merit Champion.

Furthermore, he was the Champion of the US Kids Golf Vancouver Local Tour, which earned him an invitation to the prestigious US Kids Golf World Championship next summer in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Notably, Sawyer achieved one of the lowest scoring averages in the world for the 6U Boys category.

What an incredible season for Sawyer! If you would like to follow his golfing journey, follow @sawyermorrowgolf on Instagram.

Sidney Sees Taylor Swift Thanks To Multiple Acts of Kindness

Sidney, Grade 8, made the news recently when multiple acts of kindness led to her being able to see Taylor Swift live at BC Place!

Sidney was stood outside the stadium with her sister (Payten, Grade 10) and mom soaking up the atmosphere after not being able to get tickets to the concert. While there, they saw two Swifties holding a sign that read “We Will Happily Accept Tickets.” The sign worked and the pair were offered tickets and they passed on their homemade sign to Sidney.

After an hour of holding the sign, Sidney was approached by a lady, Hana Padua, who had already seen the show the night before and wanted to pass on her good luck at scoring tickets for the second night to a young fan, and took Sidney in to see the show!

The story even made the news, watch the video and read the article by City News.
