Our whole school community came together on Monday to celebrate Lunar New Year in a truly special way.
We hosted a vibrant assembly, filled with memorable musical performances that showcased the talent and spirit of our students. Our Senior Strings ensemble performed a beautiful rendition of Jasmine Flowers, conducted by Grade 9 Joanne Yiu, Grade 2 twins Julio and Julian sang “Little Happiness” and the Grade 3s performed a crowd favourite of Gung Huy Fat Choy. These performances captured the rich cultural traditions of the Lunar New Year and Mr. Ahn gave everyone in attendance an interesting insight into the detailed history and meaning around the Lunar calendar.
Following the assembly, parents were invited to stay for a delightful tea event. This gathering allowed parents to connect and enjoy an array of delicious food and drinks in a warm, festive atmosphere, and the Grade 4 group “4+1” gave an extra special performance.
As we embrace the Year of the Snake, we look forward to new beginnings, growth, and continued success together. Here’s to a year filled with prosperity and happiness!
See photos from our celebration below and thank you to our parent volunteers Lili Han, April Liu, Mackie Mack, Jane Pan, Ellie So, Cheng-Yi Tong, Ken Tsang, Bonnie Vu, Jennifer Wong and Sherry Xia for hosting such a wonderful event and to Mr. Ahn for arranging this year’s Lunar New Year assembly.
