We love to celebrate our students’ success and good deeds, in school and beyond. Here’s four recent successes and feel good stories to share!
Tristan Donates 10 Inches of Hair to Charity
Tristan Sander (Grade 5) recently made a generous contribution to the Locks of Love initiative by cutting 10 inches of his hair. After three years of growing it long enough to donate, Tristan’s hair will be used to create a wig for a child suffering from cancer or hair loss. His selfless act of kindness is a beautiful example of compassion and generosity, and we’re proud of his commitment to making a difference.

Luella Shines at Prestigious Debate Tournament
Luella Zhang (Grade 7) showcased her skills at the prestigious Cal Invitational Debate Tournament at UC Berkeley last month. Competing in the Junior Varsity Public Forum (JV-PF) category alongside her debate partner, Evan from St. George’s School, Luella helped advance their team to the Top 8 out of 126 teams earning them quarter-finalist honors.
Luella’s individual performance also earned her a spot among the Top 20 speakers out of hundreds of participants from top schools across North America. A remarkable achievement, especially given the competition from older, more experienced debaters. Luella’s success in this field not only highlights her skills, but also the strong foundation of critical thinking and communication fostered at SJS.
