While students and teachers were taking a well-deserved break over the summer, the SJS Facilities and IT teams have been hard at work installing several updates to our campus and systems in preparation for the 2025–2026 school year. Many of these updates were made possible thanks to the generous support of our school community.
Some of the most important updates on campus go unseen. The WiFi, firewall and smartboards have been upgraded to provide faster transmissions speeds and improve internet safety for students. Meanwhile, the 1:1 device program has been expanded up to Grade 6, providing students with technology to support their transition from PYP to MYP.
New furniture has been added to several classrooms, including the Senior School design classrooms and the Junior School Discovery Lab, and additional bookshelves were installed in the Learning Commons to expand the Senior School’s book collection. Senior School balconies will be receiving planter boxes as part of Grade 7 Health and Careers Education programming, to add to the beautiful greenery around the school and support healthy living (a key goal of Strategic Plan).

These updates were made possible by your generous support through Annual Giving, which enables initiatives that enhance the student experience in academics, co-curriculars, arts, athletics, wellness, service, outdoor learning and more. Keep an eye out over the next few weeks for the launch of this year’s Annual Giving campaign.
Though not all upgrades are outwardly noticeable, they are essential to maintaining a safe, inspiring and high-quality environment in which students thrive. We look forward to having students back on campus to enjoy these wonderful updates.
