The Legacy of IB Excellence at SJS Continues

The Class of 2026 was known for their strong sense of self and work ethic. It is no surprise then, that they’ve joined the SJS legacy of outstanding IB results.

The IB Results Are In

The 2026 class of 43 students achieved an impressive DP average of 34. Among the 2.9 million IB graduates across 159 countries, our Eagles yet again landed significantly above the global average (30.9).

Notably, three students achieved a score of 40 or more! Only a small percentage (5% in 2025) of all DP students reach the 40+ benchmark each year. A score of 40 or more reflects incredibly consistent performance across six subject areas (each worth up to seven points), with additional marks earned through the Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge and CAS projects.

Congratulations to all the students for this impressive end to their final year at SJS, and thank you to the dedicated faculty and family members who supported this cohort through the DP. We are so proud of each and every student.

The University Road Ahead

Success for these SJS graduates continued through their post-secondary applications. With support from our two dedicated University Counsellors, all of our Grade 12 students received three or more offers of admission to a total of 70 post-secondary institutions across Canada, USA, Europe and Asia.

Their hard work and talent was further recognized with 77% of our graduates receiving offers of scholarship, totalling nearly $1 million.

The majority of the students chose to stay within Canada. Twenty-three students of the graduating class will be attending the University of British Columbia and the University of Victoria, while many will head out of province to institutions such as the University of Toronto, McGill University and Queen’s University.

Meanwhile, several students are heading off to international institutions, which include the University of Miami, Columbia University and the University of Edinburgh.

SJS graduates continued to embody the versatility of an IB education, receiving post-secondary offers across a variety of disciplines. Almost half of offers were for a humanities, social science or fine arts degree. The other half split between business and commerce, the sciences and engineering.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026! With a strong foundation from the IB programme and your SJS community cheering you on, there is an exciting future ahead of you.
