SJS Hits the Road for Alumni Tour East

Share

In October, Ms. Trish Richards, Annual Giving and Community Relations Manager, and Ms. Gloria Lee, University Guidance Counsellor, took to the road to reconnect with our wonderful alumni in some of the cities they now call home—New York, Montreal and Toronto.

Over the course of the week, they met with 30+ alumni and caught up on what’s new in their lives, whether they’re studying, working or figuring out their next steps.

It was great to hear what each alum is up to, with each of them taking on new challenges. Whether it be securing internships, starting their careers, launching apps in the AI space, learning Hindi or working on arts and culture magazines in their spare time, there was no shortage of motivation and enthusiasm for making an impact in their chosen fields and interests. In Montreal, we got to welcome back two alumni (Graham Maude and Saffron Kelly) who left SJS to attend other schools and have found their way back to the SJS family!

The trip was packed with great stories and moments of real joy. As ever our alumni are such good sports and indulged in a game of “Never Have I Ever” with an SJS twist, sharing stories and laughs from school days, and catching up on life now. Seeing our community come together in different cities is a testament to the wonderful spirit of SJS.

When quizzed about how they felt on reflection about the IB Diploma, there was unanimous agreement that while it wasn’t always easy, it was certainly worth it!
