It’s time to wear your school pride on your sleeve—literally!
If you’ve been “eagle-eyed” recently, you may have already noticed our new line of Spirit Wear, created by the Parent Association. To foster SJS pride, the collection includes high-quality T-shirts, hoodies, and more. Spirit Wear is available online year-round, and this Saturday (April 26), you will also have the opportunity to see and purchase items in person at the Used Uniform Sale.
A Parent-Led Passion Project
The Spirit Wear initiative, which is also a fundraiser for PA events, was spearheaded by Grade 1 parents, Jennifer Wong and Sherry Xia. With a keen eye for quality and style, Jennifer and Sherry dove into the challenge.
“Neither of us had done anything quite like this before,” Jennifer explains. “But we wanted to create something fun and high-quality that represents the spirit of SJS.”
Supporting local business was important to them, and so after careful research and testing, they partnered with a Vancouver-based print shop, True North, known for their friendly service and excellent products.
One of the standout aspects of the initiative is the commitment to quality. “It’s not just about having a shirt with a logo—it’s about creating something people feel good wearing,” says Jennifer. Parents have responded enthusiastically, often noting how the high quality exceeds expectations. “People see it online and think it looks nice. But when they try it on, they really get it.”
Try It On for Yourself!
This Saturday (April 26) from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, parents will have the opportunity to experience Spirit Wear in person at the Used Uniform Sale in the Atrium.
Trying on items helps parents and students appreciate the comfort and design firsthand—and with the chance for immediate purchase, it’s ideal for those who don’t want to wait for delivery. Both adult and children’s sizes are available.
When Can Students Wear Spirit Wear?
Spirit Wear is for showing your school pride—so wear it loud and proud at:
✔️ School events (like Fun Night!)
✔️ Athletics games (Go Eagles!)
✔️ On casual days
✔️ To and from school for an extra layer
Just a reminder: Spirit Wear is not part of the SJS uniform—so if you’re wearing it in class, you’ll be asked to remove it. Thanks for keeping it spirited and school-smart!
