As we approach Remembrance Day, we invite the entire community to gather for a poignant ceremony to honour the sacrifices made by our veterans. This year’s event will take place on Friday, November 8 at 10:50 AM in the Gunn Gym, where we will reflect on the significance of this important day.
Our Masters of Ceremonies, Grade 12s Kiana Afshar & Louisa Cassidy, will guide us through a heartfelt program filled with readings and performances. Attendees can look forward to moving performances by all SJS choirs, our Artist in Residence Luisa Henz, poems and speeches, as well as a processional and recessional by retired SJS teacher and bagpiper Jack Cairney.
In preparation for this meaningful occasion, our students have created reflective artwork that will be displayed throughout the gym, adding a special touch to the ceremony.
We look forward to welcoming residents from Tapestry on Arbutus Walk to join us for the occasion, as they have for several years now, and we encourage all parents, grandparents, students and community members to join us as we pay tribute to those who have served. Together, we can honour their legacy and remember their sacrifices.
