Grandparents Make Special Visit to SJS

Share

There’s something truly special about welcoming our extended SJS family back on campus—especially when it’s for Grandparents Day! We were delighted to host more than 120 grandparents for one of the most cherished annual traditions at our school.

From the moment they arrived, grandparents were met with warm smiles and open arms. Junior School students led their grandparents on personal tours of their classrooms, proudly showcasing their work, learning environments, and special spaces like the Discovery Lab. A pop-up photo booth added a touch of fun, giving families a chance to capture memories together.

The celebration continued in the Gunn Gym, where guests enjoyed tea, treats and a vibrant concert. Every Junior School grade took the stage, joined by several talented Senior School ensembles. The afternoon ended on a heartfelt note with a community-wide singalong of Edelweiss, led beautifully by the Intermediate Choir.

We were also pleased to welcome residents from Seasons Arbutus (formerly Tapestry) to join us for the festivities.

It was a joyful day and the perfect way to wrap up the Spring term. Heartfelt thanks goes out to our parents, volunteers and especially our grandparents—your presence brings such warmth to our school. We are grateful for your continued support and the role you play in our community.
