It has been an eventful week as our fall sports season comes to an end.
Last Saturday, our Senior Boys and Girls runners were at the BCSS Provincial Championships, held at Jericho Park. Our top finishers in the ‘A’ tier were Emi Gralappi, who placed 15th in the Senior Girls race, and Rohan Chadha, who came 25th in the Senior Boys race.
The Bantam Girls and Junior Girls Volleyball teams played at the GVISAA League Playoffs on Monday. The Bantam Girls, after winning the semi-final match against École Jules Verne, were up against Vancouver Christian in the final. SJS had to settle for silver, but this team is eager and ready to accomplish more in the future years.
Tuesday saw the Bantam Boys and Senior Boys Volleyball teams play in the GVISAA playoffs. The Bantam team defeated Brockton in a three-set thriller to capture Bronze.
On Thursday, SJS hosted the six-team Vancouver Sea-to-Sky Zone championship for Senior Girls Volleyball, where the winner of the zone would qualify for the BCSS provincials. Unfortunately, our Eagles were defeated by Stratford Hall in the semi-finals. SJS bounced back to defeat Fraser in the third place match, to end the season on a victory!
Well done to all our teams on their achievements this fall season!
