So much is happening in the world of SJS basketball! Let’s take a look at some of the latest highlights and stay up to date with the action in this Athletics Report.

Senior Girls Basketball

The Senior Girls Basketball team entered the 1A Provincials with fire in their hearts. They stepped up to their initial match against John Knox Christian School with a powerful show of skill and determination. Our Eagles came out victorious 68–63, earring them a place in the quarter-finals.

It was a daunting matchup in the quarter-finals against #1 seed Acwsalcta Thunder. The Thunder lived up to their name early, opening an intimidating 24–8 lead, but our Eagles refused to fold. Playing with no fear, they steadfastly battled back with gritty steel and aggressive rebounding, cutting the deficit to single digits late in the fourth quarter and putting the powerhouse seed on their heels. While Acwsalcta eventually pulled away for a 72–58 win, the performance showed character in spades. We couldn’t be prouder of the heart our Eagles displayed!

The girls continue on to determine their placement with their next game against Ebenezer School at 5:00 pm at R.E. Mountain Secondary in Langley. Keep up the fight Eagles! You can also check the official tournament website to keep up-to-date and to livestream games (paid).
