Last week, Ms.Trish Richards and Ms. Tevy Leyson embarked on a special tour of New York, Montreal and Toronto where they met up with over 35 SJS alumni for evenings of reconnection and lively conversation. Ranging from the Class of 2012 to 2025, our alumni got together to share stories, laugh over favourite memories, and share updates on the exciting paths they have taken since leaving SJS.
These gatherings are more than just reunions—they are celebrations of connection, shared experiences and the lifelong impact of the IB Programme. Many of the alumni are in the midst of completing their studies or preparing for postgraduate adventures, and it was clear that the skills they honed at SJS are helping them thrive. From critical thinking to time management (and the occasional TOK-inspired philosophical tangent) the IB has helped shape their personal and academic growth.
In true IB spirit, the conversations weren’t all about coursework and careers. Between heartfelt updates and hugs a few spirited debates emerged over life’s big questions—such as the best time of day to brush your teeth (before or after breakfast?) and the finer points of reality TV. It shows that our grads are as thoughtful, open-minded and reflective as ever.
While it’s exciting to hear about the impressive research, new jobs or big moves, what stood out most was the strength of the SJS bond. Even years after graduation our alumni community remains supportive, connected and full of heart.
Events like the alumni tour are a wonderful reminder that the friendships and foundations built at SJS don’t end at graduation; they grow and evolve. To all the alumni who joined us: thank you for your warmth, your stories and your continued connection to SJS. We can’t wait to see you again!
