On Thursday June 18, SJS welcomed back our alumni, staff and past faculty for the annual Alumni Summer Social! The gym was filled with friendly competition with the alumni versus student basketball game, which was neck and neck for the first half until the students broke away and won 103–73.
Meanwhile alumni mingled in the Atrium and courtyard, catching up and reminiscing with former and current faculty. Many enjoyed flipping through the old yearbooks, reigniting memories from their SJS days, and explored the hallways to revisit their favourite corners of the school. We were also joined again by the Paella Guys, who cooked up a delicious dinner.
The evening ended with a few words from Blayne Addley, Head of School, and India, Alumni Association President, who welcomed and thanked everyone for being such an important part of our community.
Former Head of School Stephen Hutchison also shared a few words about the alumni bursary that shares his name, speaking to the empowering support that bursaries like this provide the next generation of SJS students.
Those celebrating their milestone years from the Class of 2021 and 2016 were given a retro SJS apron, as were a few lucky winners from the door prize draw.
It was great to see our alumni back on campus, reconnecting with friends and faculty. There are many upcoming opportunities to continue these conversations, including the fall Alumni Tour, Winter Social and Homecoming in May 2027. We can’t wait to see you again.
